The young lady who recently bought my Propert would like it to have a bit more ground clearance by replacing the 13" wheels with 15" wheels ( they were an option when the vans were built back in the 50s ) Does anybody have any they are willing to sell, or even know what 5 stud 15" wheels were used and if they were the same PCD (4.25") as the 13" ones ? Any plurry colour will do Cobber.

I would check some mid 80s or 90s volvos..they use torana 5 on 4.25 stud pattern. I recently did the reverse..went from a 16 inch plymouth rim to a 14 rim and lower profile tyre to bring my van down. I found that my early chrysler based axle accepted a generic ford patterned , slimline holden bearing trailer hub with minimal problems, went with a 14 x5 early hilux rim as it had correct offset and runs the ford 5 on 4.5 pcd.. the early holden 4.25 pcd is not easiest to work with, it may be better to run with a more common hub pattern and open up more wheel choices / offsets . The hilux also had a 15" option in 93 or so up, and was still a narrow rim ( 185/195 tyre) . I hope this helps her. Hubs/ bearings are cheap and its easier to find wheels to suit the more common toyota/ford or holden/ commodore hub pcds than the 4.25. Jimmyj

Thanks jimmyj,
It does get complicated doesn't it ? even staying with the original 13" rims and putting new tyres on them gets expensive but that is what she has decided to do SO!........
So now we are looking for one early Holden (FE to HR ) 13" 5 stud (PCD 4.25) wheel to use as a spare.
Anybody got such a wheel they don't need please ? 😘
Cobber.

I'll be blowed, There are still good and generous people in this world I nominate both of you to be joint OIC in place of the disgraced people running Photobucket however, from what I am learning about the young lady who has bought this Propert your terms of sale for the wheels will not be acceptable to her. She will insist on recompensing you with a bottle of your choice, at least. img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/mate/DSCN3292.jpgTalk tomorrow. Cobber.
