I am removing the interior of the Duralvan for someone restoring theirs but would like to know how they were installed. Are they glued/ screwed? Were they installed after the walls and cladding put on or was the full interior installed and screwed from the outside then the aluminium claddiing put on? Any assistance would be appreciated please.

Looks like they are screwed through from the outside.

From my limited experience removing cupboards from an aluminium claded caravan. The plywood was glued and stapled to the frame, and where you couldn't see what was going on they used a lot more staples. Nails were used in various parts of the frame work, and where it was attached to caravan it was screwed. This would have happened before the cladding went on. In the end we had lots of piece that was once a seat and a bench. We tried to save it, but it was a throw away.

I renovated a Viscount without removing the cladding, never again. The J rails need re sealing anyway, if you look through renos here & on the Classic forum, you will see most remove the cladding, no surprises after you see the bones.

Also be aware that often cupboards, especially overhead cupboards gave structural integrity to the van. If removing overheads, I would brace the roof so that you don't end up with surprises like a bowed roof!!!
