Hi guys , i have been contacted by the organisers of this show to organise 10 to 15 vintage vans , to display over a 3 day period on the 24th -25th -26th- of feb 2017. They would like us to set up a display as a group all together . The venue is the Melbourne Show Grounds and they have organised that we can stay on site at the show this time,we have a huge display area in front of gate 1 which gets heaps of foot traffic, they have 50,000 public through the gates at this event. There is toilets and showers and power available for us to use. This would be a great opportunity to advertise the vintage van movement. Thanks if interested please contact me before the end of January --Doug on 0418346930 There is no cost , and they will supply a food voucher to every one for each day we attend. You can come along any day or stay the 3 days!!!! THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL!!! THANKS

This is great news, if sponsored fully, hopefully it will spread to other states. Only problem may be drawing too much attention from the white boxes!!!

Hi all, Brenten and Robyn with their Furness caravan got a gig promoting the Victorian Caravan Camping & Touring Super Show in today's Melbourne Herald Sun (page 18): Onya Brenten and Robyn! As indicated in the article, their Furness will be one of a group of vintage caravans on display at the Show from Friday to Sunday (24-26 February). As the heading of this thread indicates, there is a full complement of vans for the display, but I'm sure those taking part will be glad to see the friendly faces of other vintage vanners. Well done to the Don257's for organising the display as well. Don Ricardo

Looks like Brenton and Robyn have set the dress standards for the 2018 nationals. The bar has been set Looks like an iron of the floral shirt and some nugget on the thongs won't cut the mustard next year

We had public thanking us for bringing our vans along for them to see they were so excited to see them. Channel 9 done a live weather cross to us with the vans at 1/4 to 7 on friday morning but we dont have it recorded to have a look at, would any one happen to have it recorded so we can get to see it thanks doug

Hi ll, Dona Ricardo and I dashed in to the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Show for a couple of hours last Friday afternoon to check out the vintage vans and say hello to everyone. At that point there were five vans on display, with another four coming in for Saturday and Sunday. Here are a few pics from the display. Walking through Gate 1, the first thing to catch your eye was Mel's Carapark Zestline: Followed by Don257's Pixie 7... ...and Brenten's Furness... ...with Brenten ready to greet visitors: Also in the display was Ian & Joy's lovely 1950's lantern roofed, home built van: One van which was new to us all was this beautifully restored Phoenix: This van belongs to Sophia Purvis, a pastry chef, who operates her traveling Little Box Brownie business out of a bondwood caravan. You can see photos of Sophia's bondwood if you click on the link. Apparently she had a stall at the Caravan & Camping Show, but we didn't find her in the limited time we had there. The Show Guide included some notes on the vintage van display and a few photos from last year's display: Looking up and down the avenue, the display looked great, and it's excellent to see vintage vanning being recognised: Well done to Don257 for organising the display, and to everyone who took part. Don Ricardo
