No I haven't fallen off the face of the earth , and yes Shellharbour is on again this year . Dates are Wednesday 19th October to Wdenesday 26th October , some stay the full week and some stay which days they can. All the sites , plus a lot more are held for us and we don't need to pay deposits yet , it's all good. If anyone would like to change their site number from last year could you let me know so I can do the shuffle. The camp kitchen is finished and looks good , the park has said they would like to supply breakfast for us all one morning , they enjoy us being there and are really great park managers. Fran and Garry , I enquired about the little beach shacks for your friend, no names mentioned, they are $120 per night and use the camp kitchen and amenities block. I will be in touch with everyone either by phone or pm to confirm who is attending this year. It's a bit lucky we are a week earlier this year , this means those who are planning on going to Rathmines can do both ?. Be in touch soon Jude and Geoff

Thanks Lord and Lady Shagnasty, I spoke to Julie at the park today and it sounds like nearly everyone has paid their deposits, if you haven't paid as yet could you please do so asap. Once all payments are made I can then let them know which sites we won't be needing , this allows them to fill them .
Not long now

Good afternoon Jude and Geoff, Strugglebrook is locked and loaded, will arrive Thursday and depart Monday morning. Rattcliffe hoping for some "new" vans to baptize.
I would be concerned with the Nasty Shags as they are serial bookers, the last been Murrurundi . It appears that the older Mr Nasty Shag gets the better he was .

With Shellharbour only a bit over 4 weeks away it's time for a quick update, we have 25 vans attending this year , with only one deposit not yet paid . So Steve , please contact the park and pay 😀.
One of the group has suggested Oak Park Bowling Club for dinner , the menu sounds nice AND they have a courtesy bus . If this sounds like a plan, could you let me know either on here or by PM.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone , and yes , I have requested good weather

Oops , just found out I put the wrong name of the club down , it should have read Oak Flats Bowling Club , not Oak Park . must have been reliving my Cronulla days . Have only heard that a couple of people are interested at this stage , so won't make a booking until we get there and get some numbers in .
Not long to go now , can't wait

G'day Shellharbour attendants, Weather this weekend in the Shellharbour region has been clear and sunny, with the usual October stiff nor'easter wind blowing yesterday and today. Bring extra annexe ropes with you in case you get the same weather next weekend. The following information may be of interest to people... Roads and Traffic:1) Bulli Pass - the Pass is closed for major work until early December. All traffic has to use the Mt Ousley road, or the old coast road from Stanwell Park to the bottom of Bulli Pass (this is the road with the iconic "Seacliff Bridge" on it). Avoid the coast road or you'll likely take "forever" to go the distance. 2) Windang Bridge - major work being done between 4am and 3pm each workday. Lanes are reduced from 4 to 2 during this time period, so take care with your wide caravan. 40kph speed limit applies. Events around the region:
Friday 21st: Rock 'n Roll fans can shake their booty at the "Westside Rockers" monthly dance at the Illawarra Master Builders Club in Church St., Wollongong. 8pm-11:30pm in the upstairs auditorium. $10 admission at the auditorium door. Expect more than 100 people there. Saturday 22nd:
1) It's the annual "Garage Sale Trail" day, and there will be a number of stalls set up in the carpark opposite the intersection of Windang Street and Reddall Parade, Lake Illawarra (about 6kms north of your C/Park). 8am-12noon. Free admission. Also get the Sat edition of the Illawarra Mercury to find out where the other 60-odd garage sales will be around the Illawarra region. 2) Sacred Soul Vibrations Expo - at the Shellharbour Club, Wattle Road, Shellharbour (about 2kms west of you). 10am - 6pm. Free admission. A body, mind, and spirit event with lots of activities/promotions/stuff to buy. Great if you've been feeling out of sorts and the slot-head screws holding your body together have become loose or out of alignment. 3) One World Concert - in Hindmarsh Park, Kiama (about 15kms south of you). 1pm-4pm. Free. Concert is in honour of United Nations Day (24th). Wide variety of music supporting an increased awareness of the situation of refugees internationally and within Australia. Hindmarsh Park in the big park opposite the main strip of shops in Terralong St., Kiama. A great place to spend a lazy afternoon. 4) Tongarra Spring Fair - 234 Calderwood Road, Calderwood (or your GPS might recognise Albion Park - about 16kms west of you). 3pm-7pm. Illawarra Christian School Fair. Free admission. Rides - food - books - plants - etc Sunday 23rd:
1) The Sacred Soul Vibrations Expo continues - 10am-4pm 2) Dogs Day Out - Reddall Reserve, Lake Illawarra (about 6kms north of you - go to the intersection of View Street and Reddall Parade and listen for all the dogs barking. ) 10am-1pm. Free admission. Lots of activities for dogs and dog owners. Stalls - a 1km dog walk - free vet checks - free treats and giveaways for all dogs that attend - dog competitions. 3) Shellharbour Village Harbourside Rotary Markets - Little Park, Addison Street, Shellharbour Village (about 500m north of you, on the foreshore). 9am-3pm. Free. 4) The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - WIN Entertainment Centre, cnr Harbour Street and Crown Street, Wollongong (about 25kms north of you). 3pm onwards. Dunno the ticket price, but book through ticketmaster.com.au Other than that, there's not much happening.... cheers, Al (unpaid tourism ambassador for the Shellharbour region )

Thanks Al,
some good info for the crew. I am looking forward to relaxing big time and catching up with everyone, plus Geoff might disown me if I buy any more stuff.
I need to have a huge garage sale myself, I have enough retro stuff here to deck out about 10 caravans !!!!!!!
Don't forget the Bowling club Saturday night is an option as well.
Hoping the weather gods are kind to us , it looks like the usual mixed bag
See you soon

Hi all, Great information from Al. What a great Shellharbour Ambassador you are I would like to add to the list of activities: Saturday: Car show at the German Club, Kembla Grange. Sunday: Shellharbour Public School Spring Fete Car show at Jamberoo. Details: Jamberoo Red Cross and Jamberoo Rural Fire Service are organising a car show featuring vintage, classic, and modified cars together with bikes. This will be a family fun day with an animal petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting, sausage sizzle. and refreshments provided. So, welcome to you all to our part of the world. Now that my working week is over and I have the day off tomorrow, I'll see you then. Shaun's on call for wok, so I may call on some of you for help every now and then if he'e not around. Monica

Home now from another wonderful weekend in Shellharbour NSW, despite the wind and rain. A big thankyou again to Jude and Geoff who organise this weekend every year !! Also to those I may NOT have seen helping out in the kitchen like Sue and Reddo Jude, thank you for all the "running around" you do telling us about lunches, dinner, op shops, car shows etc - I thank you for it !! Wind, rain and whale spotting made the wet weekend all the more fun. Nice to catch up with old friends and make a few new ones.
