SOOooooo Cozy. That original annex looks ok! Moon CapsThanks for the link Mustang. That shop is 2 min walk from home. 4 minutes if I roll the spare with me to ensure the perfect fit.

Marvin looks fantastic. All that in only 6 months. Love your colour choices and the accessories look great.
Pity about the lost hubcap but overall a good result. The no leaks is a real bonus.

Weekend taking "MARVIN" out for a test run to Port Elliot went well. Lost 1 hubcap but all other things went well. Weather was a mix of cool and showery and the best result was No Leaks! Really happy with the final result considering where we started earlier this year. No rush for any future projects at this time. But never say never. hhh
Now I need to locate a pair of nice chrome moon caps. Annex was great but now we are going to have a go at making an awning for the shorter stays to match the small awning Brenda made for the back windows. Really nothing major to do on the list now so time to go and enjoy our work. See you all on the road (mostly SA roads) Garry & Brenda

Hi What a great little van and retro. Thanks for all the pictures. My daughter and I just purchased a Adelma van built by cappolla brothers. We understand that it is cut from the patterns of the Road master vans. We don't know the year or model as yet and haven't started our renovation. I notice your vans roof is made from the same material as ours. Our van is seriously water damaged and will need replacing but we have no idea how to start. I have searched but as yet have no helpful information. can you offer anything please? Regards Sharron

SOOooooo Cozy. That original annex looks ok! Moon CapsHi Mustang, Ordered some and before we paid for them we tried them with the spare at the shop and too small. They feel that I may have early 50's Pontiac or Cadillac rims due to the large centre hub. Will keep trying to source some replacements.

The van is looking fantastic guys. Hopefully we get to see it in the flesh at Meningie later in the year. Meningie is the target. Hope to have it ready before then for a couple of test runs. Hi Willies, saw you at Meningie, van looks great sorry I didn't get to talk to you. Was a busy weekend. Will catch up with you at future events. Regards Bob Haywood

Hi SGTL, I must have spotted that van about the same time as you. Some similarities with the front window layout. I do like the laminate used on the table etc. Definitely later than Marvin with the ally windows as ours are timber. Even though we don't know the maker of Marvin we reckon he is the bees knees and he is a definite keeper. Down to Port Elliot next weekend to shake out the cobwebs before the next VV event at Nooriootpa next month.

We have been on a couple of quick trips recently. Down to Port Elliot twice ( visit the in laws ) and up to Nooriootpa with the other VV's and Classics. Had some heavy rain at Nooriootpa and Port Elliot and I am happy to report that there were no leaks either through windows or roof. Nice to know that the original canvas roof is still holding well and as we have timber windows there have been no issues with leaky perished rubbers. Yeah for the old school way of making Caravans. Timber construction rules.
Still no idea who made Marvin or exactly when. Still feel that he is older than the 1953 that we have been using as a guide.
