Thanks for the leads Walt, Patrick and SGTL.
Once again Sutcac, I greatly appreciate your wisdom and advice to be patient. I'm sure the right Olympic will appear too. Boblor says the right one for me is a Riviera Bunk-Bed model, so I look forward to seeing one in person one day.
I don't mind you being blunt regarding the likelihood of finding and affording a 15' Sunliner. It sounds like part of the solution is that I just need to double my budget! Now that I know, that might ultimately be easier than actually finding one.
As a Sunliner owner, I'm sure you'd agree that there's just something about their look that attracts wide general appeal. I fell in love with their shape when I saw my first one in Broome in 2012.
Cheers Tim

Hi Tim. Just didn't want to see you 'jump in' and buy something, when a really good van that suits your needs may be just around the corner. You have the best helper possible in Bob Taylor. If anyone can track down a suitable van for you, he can! Doubling your budget may, or may not help you procure a 15/16 ' Sunliner. The owners of the five that I know of hold them very closely! There are also several folk who share your good taste , and are also very keen to get their hands on the bigger Sunny. So if/when one does come up, you'll be competing with them. Hence the $$$$$$ value. And yes, we are Sunny tragics, having owned several over the past dozen years or so!....would dearly be able to s t r e t c h our current Sunny into a 15/16 footer!!! Cheers Sutcac.

Thanks for sharing the pic sutcac Your Sunliner looks absolutely fantastic! I love the two-tone with the chrome strip and I especially like the spats and venetians! It must look great behind your EH ute. I think it would look great behind our two-tone green FC sedan too Cheers, Tim

Tim, are you intrested in a resto project (paddock/barnfind) do you have a budget for a resto project Sunliner? Hi Stevej To be completely honest, I don't think I have the time or talent to undertake a complete restoration project. I'm happy to consider completing a partial restoration (that has had all the hard work done like rust and fibreglass repairs). However, if it's a 15' Sunliner, I would consider any condition, even paddock/barn find options... Cheers, Tim

G'day Guys
I just wanted to thank you all once again for your advice and support in my search for a 15' Sunliner.
The search is over as I actually managed to find one less than 10km from my house here in Canberra. A lovely couple had owned it for over 40 years. The van needs a lot of work as it hasn't moved from their front yard in over 20 years. This rare 15' version is completely original inside and out - it even has a bunk bed.
I was also lucky enough to find a second 15' Sunliner near Ipswich QLD. We bought it off a container ship captain who had replaced all the mechanicals and completely stripped the interior and put in all new walls, ceiling, floors, windows, cupboards and insulation. This one will also take a while to complete.
Cheers, Tim

Hi Tim,
So you've ended up with two? If not is the one in Canberra up for sale? I might be very interested.
If you did get two good work. I definitely wanna see some pictures too.
Cheers, Patrick

Hi Patrick Yes, I've ended up with two 15' Sunliners. I will leave one completely original to tow behind my stock 1959 FC Holden sedan. I will modernise the other one (it's already 50% done) to tow behind my modified 1959 FC Holden station wagon. Cheers Tim PS. I've just found a Sunliner Brochure (on this forum) that says the 15' caravans were actually called a "Sunliner Super 16" as they were 16 foot?

Not quite right there sutcac, the one I just retrieved is a 14'6" Sunliner by Walden. Two single beds. All the other info that you gave re 16 footers is spot on. Maybe not worth it, but our 16 has too much blood and sweat (and money) to leave home for less than 30k Tim, don't know why people ever called them 15 ' vans, yet called the smaller one 13'. Truth is 13s are 12'8" and the other one is 15'8" hence SIXTEEN foot. There you have it Rod
