Hi everybody. I said I would copy info from the other site to keep everyone up to date - so if you could give input, it would be great. Thanks.
OK We need to start thinking about the dining options for the Christmas do. There were some discussions at Samford, so I thought I should put something up for comment and opinions. Basically what emerged were the following ;
1) Catered roast as per the last couple of years with DJ. 2) On site pizza with a selection of pizza based starters ,all you can eat pizza for 2.5 hrs and pizza based deserts,at about the same cost as above 3) Do your own thing -- remembering that camp ovens may be ruled out due to fire bans,but slow cookers,casseroles, curries and cold meats and salads are all possibilities. 4)If you like the pizza option but not the cost ,then why not place individual orders with local pizza places like Eagle Boys,Pizza Capers etc.and have them delivered. 5) Anything else you would like to put forward. Then there is the noise dept. DJ as per or perhaps a juke box hired for the night.
Open for discussion Lets hear your thoughts.

Adding to this note, the theme for fancy dress that has been put forward is Country and Western. Thoughts?

We have taken over the organising of the Samford Christmas party this year. As put forward by Aunty Betty we are considering options. Whether to have catering which works out at approx $25 per head. We were also going to hire the hall and a DJ which will also incur a small fee. If catering is not an option perhaps we could all just fend for ourselves and gather at the hall after dinner to enjoy the fun, music and dancing. The theme for fancy dress is still up for discussion. Please help us make this event a memorable one like those past.
Thanks Stan and deb.

Yay! If you need any help, let us know what we can do. I won't comment on the meal choice, as we always make our own anyway, and just pay our share for the DJ/Hall hire.

Hi everyone Finally getting back about details for Samford Christmas party. As stated in the above post the cost will be $10 per head including hire of hall and DJ and also include welcome bbq on Friday night. Kids are free. We hope to include a lot of the old traditions that have been part of this event but are also introducing a few new ideas that we hope will be enjoyed by all. Payments can be made by direct deposit to Suncorp bank bsb no.484-799 account no. 154877101. Please include reference name either username or name. Please also state how many people attending including children. (This is for numbers for the bbq.) For those newbies to the event we have Santa for the kids so if you would like to provide presents for your children we will give them to Santa to give to your children on Saturday night. Dear Kenneth (Banno)
Perhaps an idea for fancy dress for next years' Christmas at Samford could be Westside Story. You could bring out the real knives while re-enacting Them & Us or Your Gang versus My Gang.
Yours sincerely smiles with a big yawn
