I just spoke to Kathryn, she is keen to hear from anyone interested. We took Lucille last year and had lots of interest. We were the only caravan there last year, but they are planning a special caravan section this year if they get enough interest. Helen

Greetings to all
On behalf of Kathryn, our Gold Coast Car Show coordinator, I advise that we are not permitted to camp overnight on Friday and the Gold Coast Show Society has decided to charge a $35.00 camping fee for Saturday night. Kathryn apologises for any inconvenience this may cause but unfortunately our camping "on the quiet" is no longer "on the quiet". As compensation, we will not be charged entry to the Car Show and therefore we get a two day pass, overnight camping and a great weekend away.
Bring it on!
Cheers
Aunty Betty
PS Kathryn also reminded me that it would be appreciated if you could arrive between 8.00am and 10.00am where possible.

Hi All Well we had 10 vans attend this event and the weather held up for us. Most of those who attended made the following comments regarding show. Firstly the toilets were arranged at the opposite side of the grounds to where we were located, a very long walk each time, shower was in the main building in the area of the toilets, which was fine, but they wanted to lock them up around 9.30- 10.00pm. There was no signage to say we were on display, the grounds plan showed us next to the toilets area (when we were actually located on the opposite side of the grounds). The program for Sunday did not mention the vintage caravan display at all. The general comment from visitors was 'we did know you were here we just came across you as we thought it was the stall holders camping overnight'. Having said all above we set ourselves up in sort of sqashed circle arrangement, all with power, and water nearby, and we were a nice patch of lawn. The arrangement of our vans allowed the public to walk from one van to the next as we were very close to each other. I am going to email the organisers and mention all above comments, and hopefully they will come back with a positive response if they wish us to attend next year. The organisers need to look at a larger area if we have more vans attending next year. This is the first time I have had my van on display at night, I must say they looked good with the interior lights on and the people coming and going. A couple vans were awarded prizes. Cheers boblor
