Hi my name is Toni.I have just bought my first Vintage Van, I was just wondering if anyone knows much about this type of Homebuild van. Where the plans originated etc., very well made in 1960 I think. It (Vincent) travelled well from Beaufort 30 kilometres past ballarat, to my home in Drouin in peak hour traffic through city. It has been painted and I would like to put the stripe back on the side (there is a slight difference in levels where it was) and maybe repaint it, not sure yet. It is very clean inside has its original light fittings inside, I will post inside photos in the next couple of days. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

Very nice.Did it come with an annex as having the clips/track is a bonus anyway.

Finally got around to taking some before photos of inside vanVincent. Please excuse the blurry photos I have a new camera and just started wearing glasses, I feel photo taking is going to be a bit of trial and error, thank goodness I'm not taking photos of people Its a shame the floor tiles are damaged in some areas I like them, been into a few shops but they don't have anything that would even resemble something from the 50s or 60s. The cupboard door surfaces are original and in excellent condition, I was hoping they were in bad condition cause I wanted to paint them the same as the top ones, Ooooh what to do? I shall refer to you Vintage Caravan members...... what do you think? is it bad of me to paint them (I bought a van that was white inside because I don't like the wood look (I know sacrilegious ), even the cushions aren't in bad condition but I would have liked lighter ones (I know I'm never happy), well at least I can change those curtains phew!! Thanks for listening Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Lovely van. You will get varying opinions but I personally would not touch the cupboards, the upholstery nor the floor! The upholstery & flooring materials cannot be obtained except by luck on evilbay if someone has some new old stock. If the tiles aren't too bad, you can re glue them. I spent a great deal of time removing paint from cupboards in my Phoenix caravan & love the result. vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/13016/phoenix-restoration?page=1 Page 3 is the cupboards. BUT it's your van & you can do whatever you like with it I'm just a stickler for as original as possible because that's my taste. If you do decide to change the upholstery, can I buy your old stuff?

Gday VanVincent.Great interior actually & changing anything is your choice. If there are any homebuilts of the same style/fit-out as yours i`d be inclined to see the decor colour scheme first to give you another aspect. Is there a brand name tag attached to the cushions? If so i`d be of the mind to upholster new material over the old.If no brand, sell them to SGTL & with the pocket money buy ones you really want. LOL gordon

Righto then.......it all stays, except......the curtains!! lol. Thank you everyone. When it comes to the outside I will probably need to check with you guys again as to how to proceed, sooo don't want to stuff it up. We think the outside sides are done with a glossy car paint or something similar to that and we can see the outline of where the strip was down the middle of the van, I really liked the metal strip down the phoenix van.......hmmmmm!
