I recall that van on EBay! I was watching it also, but decided to restore our own. Your B&B guests will be lucky to stay in it

Thanks !We are going to do some things to make it a bit less modern and more original for guests and I have been getting lots of inspiration from the posts on the site. I have a question . What is the best product and method recommended for polishing the external Aluminium on my van?

There`s a myriad of ali polishes out there but "Purple" seems to be the one which i use also.Hand buffing is tiresome so use a buff/polisher machine.Keep it away from sharp edges as the buffing pad can/will rip and/or grab.Won`t rid the lumps & bumps in the ali sheeting!Buff an area of say 600 x 600 at a time then hand rag over to remove any residue. There are also sealants available that help prolong the shine.

Expect to get black & dusty from the buffing btw.Do it in a shaded area & keep a water filled spray bottle handy to wet down the area you`re buffing. The area you`ll be buffing will turn black before it shines ...just like Brasso does on copper. You`ll also need to keep the buff pad clean from time to time as they clog up.Be very careful how you do this so best ask some one to show you. Some people use a (closed) blade scraper or such like.I use, with close fist the back of my thumb whether on sponge or lambs wool pads.Once done, rag all along edges/joins etc to rid residue.

Great tips Thanks so much. Can I do the same to clean the window frames inside as well?

Inside window frames - fine grade steel wool.Finish off with a rag & polish if need be.Easy job.
