G'day all,
Scrolling idly through Gumtree today, as one does, I came across an advert from a new V V'er called Lou who is organising a vintage caravan outing in the Sydney area on 19 July. I know that's the same weekend as the Christmas in July event at Stockton, but I thought I'd post Lou's advert from here because she's wanting to connect with some other V V'ers in her area. Maybe somebody would like to contact her and tell her about some of our activities. (I've already messaged her about the forum.)
Of course, Lou may already be a member of the forum, but anyway her advert is as follows:
Retro Vintage Caravan outing!
I am looking at organising a day trip on Sunday the 19th of July for anyone in Sydney who owns a vintage caravan.
I bought a little 10ft vintage caravan last year and took it on its first adventure over Xmas - it was so much fun!. I'm still doing it up slowly, but I absolutely love it :-)
I'm thinking of meeting up in Sydney (probably somewhere near Sutherland) and then going for a drive to Kiama on the South Coast. The Kiama beachside markets are on that day so it would be lovely to go there for a bit of shopping, and then we could all meet up for a lovely lunch somewhere.
I buy the vintage caravan magazine and there doesn't seem to be any events in Sydney coming up, I think I missed the last one that was organised for NSW, and I'm just waiting for the next event - so I thought I'd try and organise my own. Everyone coming would be responsibe for their own van and everything, this is just a call out to see if we could meet up and all follow each other for a lovely scenic drive and day out together.
So if anyone out there would be interested in coming along and joining in, I'd love to hear from you. It would be great to give your van a run if its been sitting idle parked on your lawn for a while, and we could talk more about what its like having a vintage van and share information and ideas. I'd be happy if even one person wanted to come along with us - It would be so much fun!!
Look forward to hearing from you
Cheers :-)
Lou
Good on Lou for showing a bit of initiative I reckon!!
