Hello. Anyone know what sought of rubber window seals are used for the side non opening windows of an old fibreglass Sunliner? Also if the vynal inner cieling liner is removed. Can it be left without. I'm not sure if it's salvagable and if not is it nessasary Thanks. We haven't started the project yet. Any pictures on how to do any of these would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi 2sneezles. You will have to remove the window first and then try to match it with a the same or very similar cross section/profile rubber. This rubber can usually be sourced from Spectrum Rubber or Clarke Rubber. I have used the services of specialist windscreen fitting companies in the past as they have the skills and materials to do a good job. I would try to salvage the original head lining if at all possible. It will clean up OK with some spray and wipe type products and gentle cleaning. Original quilted replacement material is unprocurable, though you could pay someone many $$$$$$ to supply and fit different headlining!!!! If you do end up removing it,you do not need to replace it. You could simply just paint the ceiling but it would look pretty ordinary! What several Sunliner owners have done is to use a light carpet/heavy felt(used in the marine industry a lot to line inside cabins of boats) glued straight onto the ceiling . Looks good and really tidies up the interior. Other Sunny owners/restorers may have some other ideas/suggestions. Good luck with it. Sutcac

G'day 2sneezles, There is some info about the Sunliner fixed window rubbers in this post . Also read the post a couple below that (the last one). Oddly enough, when I download the Spectrum Rubber catalogue and look at all the windscreen/glazing seals on Page 4, neither of the two numbers mentioned by humpty2 (profile # 218.100 DM508 F2606) or gabby2013 (profile # 218.034) show up on the catalogue page. Got me beat how to use the catalogue properly. Are there heaps more profiles available from Spectrum than just the ones shown in their catalogue?? cheers, Al.

G'day Al & All I've just updated the information for Spectrum Rubber in the restoration parts suppliers list that now includes a link to their catalogue, it does have profiles of the 218.100 & 218.034 in this catalogue on page one. Maybe things have changed since their move to Penrith Cobber.

G'day cobber Nup, what it proves is that I really DON'T know how to read their catalogue properly. The two numbers quoted above are in the version I downloaded a couple of years ago, on Page 1 as you said. Here I am thinking the people above were talking about H-channel profiles... Learnt something today, so that's a good thing... cheers, Al.
