I have removed the door from my 66 Viscount, which has the door within the door. I am considering replacing the fly wire screen mesh with something similar to 'Crimsafe' type mesh, just to enable the door to be open on those warmer nights to let in any breeze. It would require the mesh to be secured in a similar fashion as seen on the 'Crimsafe' site. I would suggest that the use of the current amount of rivets in the main door (plus some) would be suitable? Does anyone have any thoughts? Regards, Bob.

Gday Bob.Its not only the type of mesh they use or the patented screw clamps but the method & style of frame. In most caravan doors or for that matter older house screen doors the mesh is placed on the back & a bead of rubber is rolled into a recess to hold taut & in place.Better/newer doors also allow for a decorative panel which slides into a recess within the inner of the frame & these panels are riveted at various points where the panel slides into the frame. There are a couple or so meshes out there which might suit you - one is a thicker weaved material mesh - dog mesh i think its called but bit exy though. The other is called - one-way mesh. Its a perforated ali panel(tiny holes) which allows you to see out only/rain out/fresh air in.Most screen door mnfg companys should be able to fit to your requirement by taking the door to them. gordon

I have 'dog mesh' on my kitchen door, however, the storm stressed dog still managed to put holes in it while we were out! it's called 'Tuffscreen' & latest piece was $35/meter at Mitre 10. When living in East Timor, my brother had 'Machete Proof' mesh on his windows Not sure if that is available in Australia

Thanks, shesgotthelook. I actually thought the 'Crimsafe' type material was going just a tad overboard, I certainly don't know about the "Machette Proof"!! I'm sure people understand what I am thinking, just something a little more secure that fly wire screen. But I will throw your suggestions into my research. Regards, Bob.
