Today I had my van weighed by TMR and it showed an ATM weight in excess of my registration papers. Can anyone here advise what the weights were for an original Olympic Riviera 16ft van with 6 berths?

Not sure on the 6 berth but the original 4 were 850kg
Having done extensive changes to the interior of mine... I registered mine at just under 1200kg to be on the safe side. Never had it over a weighbridge to check. Atog

Mine came in at 1120Kg after I removed the rear bunks and fitted a double bed, the registered ATM is 1020Kg.

Hi tymkey Depending on which state you live in, you may have to have a stamped weigh docket with rego/ chassis no. on it and take it to the Authority/ Inspection station to have the tare and ATM amended. It appears your van does not comply as it stands now. The normal allowance is 300 kgs over tare, - in your case 1420kgs. this then raises another question, -- is your axle/bearings able to carry this load . So maybe a heavier axle/bearings are required to allow you to load your van to ATM. Cheers boblor

My original question remains unanswered, what was the weight specifications when manufactured?

Hi tymkey A 16' unit weighed about 860-880kgs in original form. All moulded Olympic caravans were advertised at weighting 112lbs per foot in length, -- so do your own calculations from this and see where you end up. Cheers boblor

Thanks Bob, I needed to know as there may be an alteration I can make to bring the van back closer to its original weight!
