Hi Daggsey & Carrots,
Bit sad to see her go. I still her in the mud in front of our shed in my mind occassionly.
But all things progress they tell me. We also had to get rid of one van, & I've never been forgiven for selling our Sunliner.
It will be good to see what you do next

Hi Daggsey and Carrots, Lady Madonna became part of all our lives via your epic journey across Australia from WA to just about the northern tip of Queensland and back again. At times I think many of us almost felt that we were on the trip with you because of your fantastic posts and photos. I reckon Lady Madonna has been photographed in front of just about more Ozzie icons and superb Australian period buildings than any caravan before her (an awful lot of them pubs I happened to notice )... As a result of all this I think a lot of us are probably feeling sad about her departure through the gate with her new owners. But hopefully they will join the forum, and have lots of happy times with Lady Madonna they will tell us about. And hopefully you will let us tag along with you both on your next project. Don Ricardo

Hi Daggsey and Carrots. Didnt think i woulod live to see the day when Lady Madonna would part company with you guys. Its like losing a friend from the forum. Cant help but think the new owners will have to chain her up!! Otherwise she will get the "wonders"up and head off on her own retracing her tyre tracks back around Australia..... only this time not looking at the bum of an FC Holden.
Good luck with "Gladys the Globetrotter " Reddo

Hi Daggsey,
Well after trying to find out what I could about my girl Queenie, I believe she was once the very famous Lady Madonna!

Hi Nat, Yes you are right, there is a lot of recent history with "Lady Madonna". Interesting that you have discovered that she may be a 1962/63 model and not the 1968 model that her birth certificate (rego papers) shows. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of her that we did. Daggsey

Hiya Daggsey, we just bought a 68 Valiant to restore. Wonder if you could help us with a photo of the table mechanism that attaches it to the wall ours is wobbling from side to side. The strip it hooks into is there but it seems like something is missing causing it sway around against the front wall. The leg secures to the front (floor) as it should....anyway got some fun ahead, it's a sweet caravan, presently replacing inner roof...that's that. Cheers. Dave.😊

Hi Dave64, Welcome to the forum. Great to hear about your van. Daggsey actually sold his Valiant back in 2010. It was also discovered after a while that his van was a 1962 model, rather than 1968. Having said that, Daggsey is still a member of the forum, and does post from time to time, so may answer your post himself. In the meantime, I'll copy your post to the 'General' section and hopefully somebody with a Valiant around the same age as yours will respond. You can find the post I've put up by clicking here. It may help if you can post some photos of your van and the table attachment mechanism, just so that people can be sure they're talking about the same thing. There is info about posting photos on the forum here. Don Ricardo
