Just picked this beauty up from a lovely old couple near Tumut. He had a stroke and everything must go, they have had it for most of it's life and he has added heaps of stuff to the van, came with EVERYTHING all i need is clothes and food. Was a bunk bed model but he has puled them out and made cupboard and tV space there.

Thanks guys, she has a few mod cons, electric brakes, water pump, TV, miles of annexe, electric blankets, 2 fridges, 8 power points, skylight and all the crockery, cutlery, manchester, pots and pans, you name it she's got it. Got caught in the torrential downpour at Goulburn that stopped the freeway, got home expecting the van to be full of water but not one drop, truly amazing. She's very heavy so any one want to swap my 59 Dodge for a V8 classic rhd whatever, give me PM. Sheppo

I was wondering who bought that... its the only Roadmaster I have ever seen that was almost the same as Betsy. .. before it was renovated anyway... I've only heard of one other with bunks and it was a tandem... thought it was her when I first saw it... If it had been closer to home I would have gone to have a look... near as I can figure out it's a few years older than ours was... I'm pretty sure ours had a kitchen window and that the sink was round.... and I've seen those kind of sink in early 1970s ones... the family photos ate Awol and my memory of when I was 4 years old is just a bit sketchy....Dad sold Betsy about 25 years ago now when she became too small... would love to find her one day.... They're great vans but really heavy... and solid.... Enjoy your travels!

You could fit all that in the Dodge boot & not have to worry about towing a van! I`m a little surprised though that the Dodge finds it a bit heavy. If memory serves correct i`ve seen earlier 6s tow quite alright.Pity as yours are a very nice combo.

Main reason it's so heavy is the owner carried so many spares with him, he had a weigh bill ticket saying 1.8 tonne now thats heavy. I pulled about 300kgs worth of gear from under the van like car trolley jack and stands, about 50 kgs of tent pegs large stack of steel annexe poles etc, so now the old girl will pull it, only towing l/h/d is not real safe, i learnt that one with my Sunny.
