Hi all, So .... here's the thing - the Viscount has returned from the painters.... Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAll the windows have been cleaned & polished, new polycarbonate windows, all seals & fittings renewed & all ready to be re-installed. The issue I have now is how do I reseal them..?? I have one party telling me silicone for everything, & another saying the original putty - so I thought i'd ask you all for your thoughts. Any info / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Rgds, T.

I've always used the Selleys Butyl Mastic Rubber caulking compound for those sorts of jobs. I like that it hardens on the outside and stays soft beneath the skin. It's paintable too. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, comes in three colours, grey black and white. As far as I'm concerned silicone should be banned around caravans. Looks absolutely crappy when dirt gets onto it.

No Silicone, taboo on vans, had the unpleasant task of trying to removing it so many times, Butyl Mastic is the only way to go, easy to pull windows out if you have to down the track Cheers S&J
