Hi! I'm a new member, we purchased a Viscount caravan a few momths ago and have been renovating the interior. I initially posted over on the the classic forum as the rego papers state it's a 1975 model, but had someone tell me it's actually a mid to late 1960's model. Will post some photos, would love to get an idea of age and model if anyone can help?t. [/URL] We've already done quite a bit to it since these photos were taken. It had been partially painted inside but the quality of work wasn't great so we ended up repainting all the walls and ceiling white and cupboards in a sunny yellow. Have added a couple of wallpaper feature walls with original retro wall paper to play up the retro feel. Currently part way through laying the new vinyl floor and making new curtains and it will almost be ready to make it's first journey! Can't wait! We were lucky in that it is structurally good, has had some inside panels replaced by a previous owner and no damp or rot, so our work has been mostly cosmetic things. Have had a bit of a browse through the forum and have loved looking at all the photos of other people's renovations. I think I'm hooked on this world of caravans already!

Gday Retro & welcome.First off it would help if you can show a pic of the welded drawbar number.Inbetween waiting for replies & armed with the number you could take a look through the Viscount index which until some one puts definate date to it,will at least give you a reasonable guestimate.....body profile/window plaement/interior layout etc. cheers

Thanks for your reply, the number on chassis and also marked in pencil under table is C666. The other thing I meant to add was the exterior is a textured metal rather than a flat surface: Oh and it's alloy framed which places it after 1965 right?

Hi retro fan, Your van is a 1967 Valiant made by Viscount. At some stage it has had its silver aluminium painted over which gives a totally different look. If you look down history lane you will see what it would have originally looked like under the Valiant section,. Cheers hughdeani
