I am selling our family caravan on behalf of my parents.
It was home designed and home built in the early 1950’s by my Mum’s father who was a professional engineer, so it is absolutely unique.
The van has been stored under cover in a dedicated caravan port to keep it in the best condition.
Caravan Photos
- Length is 11 feet 8 inches and is made from the best quality Marine Plywood of the day.
- It has an all original interior with a metho stove, built-in ice chest, sink, and foot-pump operated water tank, and overhead cupboards.
- The 4 seat table at the front converts into a full width bed.
- The full width bed at the rear has under bed storage. and converts to a lounge.
- There is a full height clothes cupboard, and vertical set of drawers.
- It also has a canvas double annexe with original poles.
- I think it has the original FJ Holden wheel rims (they’ve been on there as long as Mum & Dad can remember)
- The custom-made waterproof cover (seen in the pictures) with a heavy duty Zip to access the door is included in the sale
- The van has been jacked up so that there has been no load on the suspension/axle/tyres
- Some areas on the exterior need a bit of paint, however the wood is solid
- Some windows need to be re-puttied
- The levelling support legs (included) at the front need to be reattached underneath
This caravan would be perfect for someone looking to do a restoration with minimal effort and cost.
The van is located at Mont Albert North, Victoria 3129.
Buyer to be responsible for pickup / transport.
It will be sad to see it go, but would prefer that it goes to someone who will really appreciate it and get good use out of it.
