I want to replace all the outer seals on our 1969 Franklin Caravelle. I've made enquiries with numerous businesses - all of those listed in the supplier section, plus a few more businesses mentioned in threads relating to the Franklin window seals, plus a couple of handfuls of other businesses, plus a couple of individuals mentioned in previous threads - with no luck and now posting this thread is my last hope. So here goes! Does anyone know where I can get Franklin outer window seals (aka dust seals)? Sarah Attachment Deleted

G'day Sarah, If you have tried the suppliers listed in the Suppliers section, including those links Al has given you we could be running out of suggestions. Did you try the place listed in THIS THREAD ?Cobber

Hi Cobber and Franklin,
Thanks for your replies. I've tried all of the individuals and companies that are mentioned in all the threads about this subject.
From the noises people are making it doesn't sound very promising. I'm losing the will to live over these window seals and for my own sanity I have to move on to other things.
Franklin, when (if) I find out where to get these window seals I'll update you so you can add it to the database.

G'day Sarah, Don't do anything rash, rubbers for windows DO exists. You would realise it's no good asking suppliers for "rubbers for my Franklin caravan" don't you ? If you know the brand of windows you have that might help but there's a fair chance you may have to improvise. Give us a photo of one of your windows from the outside, somebody may be able to advise. By the way.... you know the photos you gave us on the thread introducing this van vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/12499/franklin-caravellehave disapeared ? ... do you understand why that has happened ?... you won't do it again .... will you ? Cobber.

G'day Sarah, I'm not certain sure in your case but.... if you delete or move the photos in whoever you use as 'the host' they will disappear off the forum. If people use photobucket we get this box instead of the photo, maybe you use somebody instead of photobucket ? ...same result if you delete photos from the host Cobber.

G'day Sarah, I'm thinking your window seal issue should be fairly easy to resolve, but I'm wondering if we have been talking about the same seal as you are? In your first post above, you said, "Does anyone know where I can get Franklin outer window seals (aka dust seals)?"
Sometimes there can be two seals in a window. There's the glazing rubber that seals the glass to the aluminium frame, and then there's a "dust seal" that fits onto the inside of the aluminium frame surround, and seals the window frame to the cladding (whether that be aluminium, plywood, or fibreglass).
So, when you say "aka dust seals" are you mistakenly calling the glazing rubber a dust seal, or are you actually looking for the dust seal rubber?
cheers, Al.
