Hi all....I am new to this forum and this beauty will be my first resto....I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on what model/year my van is? I have had a look in the down memory lane post etc and I cannot see my chassis number there....The vans history as far as I am told was that it was an onsite van in Cowra NSW and was sold to the person that I purchased it from, they used it as an extra bedroom for there teenage son while he went through his HSC. Many many thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to shed some light on this beast!!! drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7270oOrwdUdYnczeXBFSmRnUGs&usp=sharing

G'day vordahgon, and welcome to the forum! Your van looks very much like a hundred other different brands of vans that were made in the early 1970s. With the caravan industry booming at that time, a gazillion smaller manufacturers were in on the action, churning out dozens of caravans which all had pretty much the same cabin shape. The only similarity with your van and Viscounts (which yours isn't), is that the Valiant model also used the 'B' series of chassis numbers in the 1960s. I don't recognise the painted stripe design on the side of your van, but ultimately that will most likely be how you end up identifying the brand. Forum member hughdeani might recognise it. You can only hope that whoever manufactured it, used the letter "B" in the chassis number because that was the start of the brand name (eg. Blue Pacific), but that may not be the case. Your best bet is to switch over to our sister forum for Classic Caravans built in the 1970s: Classic forum , where you'll be in the company of others who are working on vans from the same time period as yours. You won't get any more detail than what I've given you so far, but at least you'll get a feel for what others are doing with similar vans. cheers, Al.

Many thanks for the info mate....will head on over to the other site now and post there to see how I go....it's fairly obvious that the van had a front window at some stage but that was sealed up and cupboards for the bedroom section were put in front of it? Or looks that way to me anyway lol....thanks again!!!
