Hi Gilbert, It is a pity about your Globe Trotter not being ready. You know that a half finished project is quite acceptable because then we can see it again at a later date and admire it when you have completed the project. However I guess if there are no beds in it yet sleeping on the floor is not much fun. (But then that would depend on your age!!!) You are very welcome to come down to Queenscliff and look at the vans. The numbers now are getting toward 50 so there will be plenty to look at. We will be pleased to see you. Regards Frances

Yes Gilbert, just roll on in if you are bringing a van but book with the park by phone first, but if you are there as a spectator leave your car in the car park which overlooks the heads and walk on in thru the gates.
You will see us on your right when you drive into town, but keep going to the round-about and turn right toward the sea. The gates of the caravan park is on the right, so choose a park and come on in. Saturday will be the best day to see all the vans because some who have travelled a long way generally make their way home on Sunday afternoon. See you there, Frances

Only a week to the Q/Cliff weekend. We have in excess of 50 vans booked in at the park. There has been lots of interest from various parts of the country, even New Zealand. Lots of interest from people who would like to own a VV and are coming along for advice. Thank you to those old & new vintage vanners for your support. Frances

Thank you Frances for organising this weekend. This was our first vintage van event and it definitely won't be our last. What a lovely bunch of people and such a diverse collection of vans and cars. We had so much fun meeting everyone and having a sticky beak inside their vans. And Saturday night at the Bowling Club was a hoot. We can't wait for the next event. Thanks again. Lisa & Rob Blanco

Thank you Frances and Chris for a fabulous weekend. So many lovely vans and tow cars, many venturing out on maiden voyages and several participants travelling from interstate. We enjoyed every aspect of the weekend, great park, close to the beach and historic township, lovely meal on Saturday night, even able to practice our dancing thanks to our rock and roll vanners. It is was a pleasure to be able to share the weekend with both new and old who all share the passion for vintage caravans.

Thank you Frances, It was a nice gesture to have you personally greet every one upon arrival, with local info pack and name tags! Very much appreciated to be made feel welcome! An amazing turnout. So many vans, like somebody said "it's like a Victorian nationals". It was great to see so much variety in vans and tow cars and I tried to meet as many as possible but was double booked and did not spend the whole weekend there. Sorry I missed out on the dinner at the bowling club. From all accounts, it was a roaring success. Greg and Alisha, hope you got home safely without your wipers!! And yes, Brenten, you had my dad (mechanic) bewildered with the engine in the fx! Frances, can you do this again next year? Thanks again, Robert.

Thanks for posting all those great pics onesneverenough. I was so busy taking photos of everyone else's vans that I forgot to take one of my own but you've captured her well. She's the 65 Viscount with the red stripes.
Frances, you'll have to make this an annual event. I know it was a huge undertaking for you but at least you'll get a year to recover from the last one!

Thanks for your efforts Francis and Chris, a job well done.
The Sportsman and Vagabond (and us) are drying out.
Although I am always looking for an excuse to take the vans out may I make a personal comment, going to the same place every year does not appeal to me at all. If I was going to do that I would have a holiday house not a caravan! I see the whole idea of caravanning is to get out, travel around and see NEW things.
Might I suggest that if you wanted to go back to Queenscliff perhaps in a couple of years and look at somewhere else for next year. (Perhaps the small numbers at Torquay (been there a few times) and the large number at Queenscliff (new place) reinforces my point.
Having said that I look forward to the next one wherever that is.
Leigh

Exactly my thoughts Mr. Sportsman, Maybe a tree change next year and then back to the coast the following year. I have a few ideas but will have to do more investigation before we decide.
In the meantime I would sincerely like to thank EVERYONE for their support during the wet weekend of December 5th, 6th & 7th. My weekend started off with a good dose of stress compliments of the Queenscliff Borough council, then of course the rain, but all in all I can only be happy with the resulting great weekend we all enjoyed. I am a glutten for punishment, and I may run another event next year, but anything can happen before then, so I will hopefully look forward to meeting you all again in 12 months. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy our Vintage Vans, and the lifestyle they allow us to enjoy such as good friends and happy times.(I wont mention eating and maybe drinking too much though) I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a 2015 full of Vintage Van trips. Frances.

Hi all, i had people ringing me asking if Torquay was still on as it had not been mentioned on the forum and Queenscliff had. Think people thought one had replaced the other, hence smaller numbers at Torquay. Dave

Hi nmjwcookie, Thanks for your enquiry. Queenscliff will be held as a bi-annual event and with a bit of good luck we should be ready to take up the first weekend in December 2016. I did have council issues but they seem to be resolved now & hopefully they will be more helpful for the next event. Frances
