Hi,
I'm in Perth and would love to get my self an old Baravan, I have a soft spot for them.
I had an old 1963 Baravan and reluctantly sold it about 15 years ago after many good years together. It was a 14' with a rear Side door and had the table and chairs at the rear of the van ( that folded into a bed) and had the kitchen opposite the door, 2 single beds at the front of the van and a massive air conditioner fitted in what probably was a window between the beds. Also had a robe on the door side to the left as you walked in. it would not be hard to recognise due to the aircon fitted at the front and there is a sheet of galvanised steel fitted where there once was a curved Perspex window on the front (door side) that broke One day due to a brick being thrown through it.. (Long story) the van was originally purchased for me by my old man as a back yard bedroom. I then purchased it when I came home on day only to find him trying to sell it to someone.. I bettered their offer and sent them on their way! I then owned it for many years before selling it.. Which I now regret of course.
So if any one has an old Baravan they are considering selling, let me know, post some pictures here and if it's what I'm looking for I will contact you regarding price. I'm not it a huge hurry for one, although I would purchase immediately if I find a nice one at a good price, I have an idea of what I'd like to spend and I know the value of caravans well, and have had about 10 caravans come and go in our family over the years ranging from 1960's to 2000's era vans in all shapes and sizes.
A licenced van if preffered but not essential as I am eager to be gutting and rebuilding if necessary to suit my needs.
To be honest a Baravan is my preferred van, however in would look at any other older vans such as viscounts, yorks, Millards, coronets, newlands, franklins, etc... You get what I'm after..
I'm obviously only interested in vans in the Perth area (will go to country areas if not too far away.. And van is licenced) I look forward to see what comes up?
thanks.
