Selling on behalf of the owner. I have checked this van out myself as I wanted to find out whether I really wanted a van of this age. The van looks better in the flesh than in the photos, but while the van smelled dry and there was evidence of only one old leak in one of the rear corners, I have seen too many write ups on this forum of timber frame vans needing a lot of work. Its sort of scared me off! The subfloor of this van looked really good. The floors weren't spongy. Its about 11ft from memory.
I promised to list his van on this forum with an asking price. The seller's name is Mark (0428 692 365) and the van is located in Albion Park Rail (Wollongong area) on the Princes Highway (you can't see it from the street unfort).
This is the ad from ebay. Asking around the $3k mark.
Very good original condition, all original paint inside with no water stains, the exterior is bare aluminium which will polish to a mirror finish,
99.9% complete. The only thing missing is the tow hitch. My dilemma here is that all the original vacuum brake system is there and would be legal or it would be simple to remove the vacuum booster and connect the hydraulic line straight to a tow hitch with a master cylinder on it ( $180 ).
It comes with the original awning, poles and ropes and is in perfect condition apart from a repair where the door opens.
Has been in a shed out west for 24 years and is probably 1956-59 FE era.
The last pic is of a glass level bubble built in and there is one on the front too.
My photos do not really show how cool the roof at the rear slopes down looks with the two window on the angle.
I have not tested the fridge or any other electrics. There is a round trailer plug and all the electrics are original and 100% complete and untouched.
Feel free to ask any silly questions
