Hi all
A few people asked about the roads/routes on the trip so I've modified the original post to show which towns are drive thru places between A & B on days we are travelling, so it's easier to pin point the roads on a map.

Hi Cathy,
Any idea on how many vintage vans might be going on this trip? Now that there is an alternative function proposed at Casino at the same time, it seems logical that a few of the SEQ people will prefer to travel the shorter distance rather than the long haul to Broken Hill.
we still intend to travel this planned route as you have suggested, probably in our Statesman towing our Olympic. Comfort will prevail on this trip for us, as against open air motoring in my hotrod.

Hi all
Last week I contacted all the Parks mentioned above & did bookings. They are all fine to get confirmed numbers by early April & dont want deposits except for Lake Leslie who want deposits if we want powered sites. The owner has plenty of unpowered sites with lots of lake frontage & I don't think she'd want deposits on these unpowered sites.
So let me know if you're a definite for this run asap. I realise Milmerran to Casino is very attractive being close to home for us NNSW/SEQ ers, but this is also a great opportunity to get out to Western NSW & see some great places with good people.

So far its 8 definites on this Tour with 2 possibles, so that's great.
Let me know if you are interested & havent contacted me before this as I told all the caravan park managers when I phoned them , that we would be needing 8 powered sites.
So if there are more people coming along on this great tour, Ill need to know soon!
Two of the "tourists" have offered to pay their bit at Lake Leslie so that means we keep our 8 powered sites.
Thanks Bob & Steve! smiles

Hi all
Last week I phoned the Caravan Parks on the route to Broken Hill to reconfirm our bookings for the trip.
From the numbers people have told me coming, I've booked:
8 sites at Lake Leslie 8 sites at Moree 10 sites at Lightning Ridge (6 of them will be unpowered for the first night due to Easter) 8 sites at Bourke 8 sites at White Cliffs
Unfortunately Rob & I won't be going all the way to Broken Hill. We're going as far as Lightning Ridge then turning back thru Burren Junction, Pillaga, Narrabri to the coast then north along the coast. Wherever we end up will be great. We would have loved the opportunity to go to BH but fitting such a long trip into 17 days off work with farm & study became too obvious was not possible!
We know everyone will have a great time whether they're at Broken Hill, the Alps, Casino or wherever!

Hi Smiles,
Well I just got the OK from the doctor treating my leg injury, so its all good for us again. Its been a rough month for me, but we are really looking forward to getting out again. Boots wont let me near anything I can hurt myself on between now & the trip, on pain of death.

Hi Julie & John
I just saw your post! Nice you're joining up with the trip but
Can I suggest that you phone all the caravan park phone numbers in the first post & say you're with the "Vintage Caravanners" & you want to book an extra site. This is especially important with Lightning Ridge which is practically booked out & only has unpowered sites left for the first night.
Cathie (who has now done 500 posts & is on tenterhooks to see if I turn into a Queensland True Blue Pumpkin!)

... Cathie (who has now done 500 posts & is on tenterhooks to see if I turn into a Queensland True Blue Pumpkin!) Nice thought Smiles, but no such luck! Nevertheless, with 500 posts you have graduated to 'Senior Member'! I'm not sure whether you'll see that as a feather in your cap or not? Perhaps we can organise a vintage caravan in the shape of a Queensland Blue for you? Don Ricardo

Hey JBJ,
I'm sorry to hear about the hiccup with your recovery. That's really bad news. I hope that the new antibiotics do their job, and your doctor says "Next time I see you, I want it to be in Broken Hill"!
It would be a pity for a V V Nationals to come and go without the appearance of JBJ, Boots and their latest vintage caravan!
Trust that you're feeling better very soon.

We would like to join in the convoy at Bourke in our Skippy Deluxe (Viscount Ambassador). Currently cruising around the Warrumbungles in our first excursion from Qld. I will phone the caravan parks...

Hi LaConic
Don't bother phoning the caravan parks as JBJ us not going now so all their sites will be free so you can just slip into those spots. And as I said before, Rob & I only going as far as Lightning Ridge before turning back homeward bound! Yippee I yay there's so much to do before we go, it seems almost impossible we'll ever get onto a Road with a van!

Hi all
Well the NNSW/SEQ run has got off to a flying start!!!
Most of the group met up at Lake Leslie near Warwick on Friday. OK for a night but probably a non-return place there!
We arrived at Moree for a late lunch followed by a swim! Moree seems to be a very nice tidy town.
We're here at the Gwydir caravan park. Great place! It has 5 artesian pools so u go progressively hotter thru 34, 35, 37, 39, then plunge into the big 28 pool & bring your body temp back to air temp. We're all going swimming again this morning before heading off to Lightning Ridge later in the day when we can pop across the road to the big bore baths there. We all reckon we're getting younger by the minute sitting in the bore baths !!!
See yez! Cathie & Rob

Hi again from us lot!
We're here at Lightning Ridge camped right beside the 15 Flxble Clippers here in LR for Easter. Their club goes to a different venue every Easter. Next year it's Coonabarabran then the following year it's Uluru. Wouldn't that be a sight?
Rob & I snuck into their outdoor film show of Clippers...just great!
Off we all go to look at the Clippers before they leave.

Here we all are at White Cliffs on our way to Broken Hill nats. We are travelling with seven other vans in convoy & enjoying every minute of it. Unfortunately had to leave Cathie & Rob at Lightening Ridge. Thank you both for looking after us all up till then. Great to catch up with Clyde & Barb, Brenden & Stacey & newbies Julie & John also at lightening Ridge. Gabby & Alan have joined us at Bourke.
This is the first time a lot of us have been "outback" & have experienced so many new things, underground opal mines, have visited a cotton gin, citus farms, done the outback pub crawl & met many colourful locals. One highlight at Lightening Ridge was seeing sixteen old Clipper buses parked amongst our vintage vans, an awesome sight.
Have a great time at Casino for all who are going, would love to be in two spots at once.
Cheers Jacqui & Bob
