G'day Daggsey Back in November Cobber sent me a PM with a link to the Cowra info centre The moderating team at this stage had no contact with the Info Centre .....they heard on the grape vine we were coming to Cowra for our nats .....I guess the office girl had the job of puting an article on their website ....I would also have another guess she did not know the front from the back of a caravan it was also stated it was our AGM ....as most caravan clubs have their AGM in a caravan park......we know it is our NATIONALS They also got it wrong by having a photo of a vintage van with flower pots all around it ( this is what Cobber was jumping up about ) this is when I made contact with them and pointed out all the things wrong and that the team would supply an article from Mark T .......but before we could get Marks article to them, they changed the photo( caravan and pots plants) to your Holden and Globe trotter van which they got from....... somewhere else - forum member paparizzi's website ( forum member paparizzi will also be at the nats doing articles for magazines) Daggesy I hope his answers your inquiry. Why your outfit was on the Cowra Info Centre website cheers f/f ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D somewhereelse.com.au/?page_id=2

Hey we are all new to this but will be attending the Nationals in our newly aquired 1968 Murrumba Star ( thats if my husband gets all the reno's finished in time.) We are booked into the Cowra Holiday Park as the Caravan Park is really overbooked. Will we still be able to be part of the action? How many of u other vv's will there and not at the main Caravan Park?

Hey we are all new to this but will be attending the Nationals in our newly aquired 1968 Murrumba Star ( thats if my husband gets all the reno's finished in time.) We are booked into the Cowra Holiday Park as the Caravan Park is really overbooked. Will we still be able to be part of the action? How many of u other vv's will there and not at the main Caravan Park? Hi Murrumbastar1, Welcome to the V V forum and congratulations on the purchase of your van. At this stage there looks as if there will be 20-30 V V'ers located at the Cowra Holiday Park, so you definitely won't be on your own. It's a shame that we will be split over two parks, but we have been overwhelmed (in the most positive way) by the response to the 2012 V V Nationals. When we chose the location for 2012 we allowed for a 100% growth in numbers from the last Nationals in 2010, and thought we were covered because the growth from one Nationals to another had been around 50% each time. However, things have gone gang busters for Cowra and we are looking at an increase of about 150%, maybe even more by the time we get there! The group of forum moderators who are organising the Nationals are very aware of the issues which might arise from being in two different locations and are putting arrangements in place so that nobody is left in the dark, or is not able to participate in events. You will definitely be able to be part of the action, and we are looking forward to meeting you. See you there! Don Ricardo

And here it is again....in Tuesdays SMH “Life & Style” section. Getting the article in the Fairfax media means it will get published all over the place, and will stay on-line for........... four years at least Cobber.

hi cobber and everyone else
the bus trip is not finally organised at this stage.
we're waiting on word from the bus company regarding maximum seat numbers and total cost (inclusive of all admission fees to the museums etc.)
as soon as i get this info i'll post the booking details and cost and people can begin to commit to the tour.
as far as the organisation of the itineray goes, we have firefighter to thank for that - he's been working really hard with the tourist centre, the council, the van park, the services club and others to get this all together.
for my part - i'm only responsible for posting the notices - but thanks for your comments.

Just thought i would mention this.... I am booked in at the van park from saturday until wednesday 3rd May. I will be vacating my site by around 10.00am on that day.....Heading home to get organised for a motorbike rally at Nundle on the friday thru to sunday. ( gunna miss the big dinner night.. ) Sooooooooooo.... If anyone who is on an unpowered site or over in the other van park and would like to pull up stumps on the wednesday morning and move up onto a powered site then i suggest you ring the park and ask if site 66 is available.. By that i mean to check and see if they havent booked anyone else onto the site from the wednesday onwards.... EGADS..... just imagine having a 2012 fifth wheeler stuck in amongst all our old vans.... . I think the sites have been alocated acording to length... My "Öld Blue"isnt much longer than 10ft .. so ya might have trouble getting a 24 ft Airstream onto my site... Anyway guys... there it is.. give it some thought . Regards Reddo

Just an accomodation suggestion for anyone who may be travelling from the sth/west to Cowra (specifically passing thru anywhere near Narranderra)and were looking for a good campsite with only a couple of hrs to go onto Cowra the next morning. The Royal Hotel in Grong Grong, located about 20k east of Narranderra, provides FREE unpowered or $15 a nite powered sites out the back of the pub. Showers are a gold coin donation and toots about a 20m walk. You can get a good feed there, couple of beers and a great chat with the friendly publican, his wife and the local characters, not to mention help support a tiny outback town in the process. jenno

Good Afternoon Mark We spoke a couple of weeks ago in regards to offering our services to the Vintage Caravan National which will be passing by us late April early May. It would be most appreciated if your able to send our information on to the event organizers, we are currently offering all V Ver’s 20% off all meals. Mandurama is on the mid-western highway between Bathurst (actually Blaney) and Cowra.

Sounds good to me.
As far as i'm concerned i'll be on holiday, so don't plan on doing much cooking if I can help it. ;D ;D
So more than happy to go for a cruise out and about in that direction and have some lunch or dinner.
Regards Di
