Hi all, As Geoff mentioned, we managed to catch up with the crew at Daylesford. These photos reflect just 24 hours of the tour. First some caravans: There were two vintage vans parked on-site: In the time we were there Geoff took us to several places of interest. First the Mineral Spa: Then we climbed down to the blow hole (and up again): Our tour guide, Geoff, explaining the formation of the blow hole: Apparently the blow-hole is more spectacular in the winter and spring seasons. On a warm, sunny day like we had it wasn't active and therefore easy to climb to and explore: After the blow-hole we went to Franklin Springs, which is in the site of a dormant volcano: On the way back we stopped in at the local chocolate factory for afternoon tea (YUM): Back at the caravan park tea was a delicious BBQ with some great company: Dinner was followed by 'damper on a stick' in the camp kitchen, lovingly made by Di, rolled by Gay and cooked by various people who were willing to get close enough to the fire: Though the days were warm the nights got pretty cold: Some more random photos: Mick and Colleen's Yellow Spinner Not sure what was happening here: Now for some of my favourites, thanks to Martin for helping me finally find the fungus: Lake Victoria at dusk: The sole roadhaven: Brett's new van, a '64 Franklin: Thank you so much for the invitation Geoff and for all your organisation. This is just 24 hours worth, wish we could have made it for longer. Safe travelling to all vintage vanners who are lucky enough to attend the Mexican Tour. Looking forward to seeing more photos of the remainder of the tour. Cheers, Lilian and Dave.

Hi All Wow look at all the beautiful vans - and the lovely autumn weather you've managed to catch. We're looking forward to coming up for the day on Saturday in Bendigo to meet everyone and have a look about before going out to tea together. I just love looking at everyone's photos - now was that the longest line of toasted marshmallows or something else? I was wondering if we should have insulin shots on hand at these gatherings! Hi Dave and Lillian.. Looks like a great tour...... Thanks for the magic photos. Lots of nice cars and vans.. And Thanks Cobber for the link to the Advocate article... Good to see Firefighter getting an interview. From what i have read leading up to the event he deserves a pat on the back for the work he has put into the organising of the tour. He and a few others honed their organising skills on the Cowra nationals... and ..we all know how well that went off aye...... I dont think i will get much sleep tonight... Toads and Roaches Off the Beaten Track tour kicks off for me and a few others tomorrow... Anzac Day..... Meanwhile keep the Mexican Tour pix coming guys. Regards Reddo

Gee, makes me want to be there.
Wait a minute, we were! Just not then.
We arrived Late Sunday afternoon after a busy day at the Classic Showcase at Flemington Racecourse with the Vagabond and Clipper on show. We then shot up to Daylesford but arrived obviously after the festivities and photos were taken.
Karon and I had a terrific time with the group for a couple of days but work beconed and we headed home from Maryborough late yesterday.
Never fear we hope to see you all again on Friday night to spend the last couple of days with you all.
Thanks so much to Geoff and Gaye for their work in putting all this together.
See ya soon.
Leigh.

Some more photos of the Mexican Tour f/f doing what he does best!! Eddie Ford's Newstead Steptoe & Son in Maryborough Dunolly Moliagul Welcome Stranger memorial (road closed section) Melville Caves Lunch at the Melville Caves picnic spot. Around the Camp Fire Inglewood Thanks Geoff & Gay for a great Mexican Tour. It was evident that loads of work had gone into the organising and we appreciated every aspect of our eight days away (and first with the VV Forum) in the Tear Drop. Just a shame we couldn't do the Bendigo bit, can't wait to see the pics from there. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Red
