Thought I'd start this thread for interests sake. Your favourite C P/campground for any reason. e.g. Facilities, access to local attractions/sights/activities. Social interactions.Low cost. No crowds. etc etc. Pics would be good. I'll start the ball rolling. Fishing Haven CP on the Clarence River, halfway between McLean and Yamba on NSW north coast. Small.Very friendly,Family owned /run.(about 20 sites) Spotlessly clean amenities. Pet friendly.Three fishing jetties, each with its own tap/ sink/fish cleaning station. $ 28 night powered.

My favourite would be the Apex Park Caravan Park in Mildura right on the banks of the mighty Murray. It's got that fantastic atmosphere, Especially during summer and the sandy beach is right there to enjoy. The boat ramp is easily accessable, Lots of shade and the facilities are some of the best I've had. We stayed there when we were looking around Mildura for a place to buy. www.apexriverbeach.com.au/

G'day sutcac, You know I was only half joking . don't you I'm surprised Geoff 'n Jude haven't been on tell everybody about Kendalls on the Beach holiday park A top spot with great walks along the shore line to the Kiama blow hole and shops, or just relax on the beach about one minutes walk from your van or jump in the car and do some very scenic drives around the area. www.kiamacoast.com.au/Kendalls_Beach/Good idea this thread Cobber.

Hands down winner for us is Keep River NP in the Kimberleys. First campground. It's not that far from Kununurra so many folks give it a miss. A sort of mini Bungle Bungles (sorry, Purnululu NP). Breathtaking.

Hi Cobber. Yes I'm sure Kendalls would be among Geoff and Judes favourite Parks. We stayed there for a few days on our way home from the Mt Gambier Nats and enjoyed everything that it had to offer. A bit hard to pick ones favourite park as there are so many wonderful places in this great country of ours. You and Yvonne have been travelling around by caravan for longer than most of us. ( I say that in the nicest possible way , Yvonne.!) If you could return to only one spot that you've been to Cobber......where would it be??......for any reason. Cheers Sutcac.

we've only been vanning for a "few" years now and family has kept our holidays short and close to home so we reckon it's a toss up between kendall's beach and coledale for us. since kendall's has already been pictured, here's a few of coledale at it's best and worst. geoff 'n jude

If you could return to only one spot that you've been to Cobber......where would it be??......for any reason. Cheers Sutcac. G'day sutcac, Wow ! that's a big ask. You're asking me to nominate one PLACE ... as opposed to a caravan park or camp site.... that I have been to over the last 50 years that I would want to return to .... now ! Some of the places that come to mind had very ordinary CPs and camp sites..... some of them would test my physical condition now at my stage of antiquity ..... so I'll give it some thought, and see if I can find photos.... we love photos aye ? Cobber.

Mt Mulligan Station This is a shot of the Weir on Monday morning this week. Camped out under the stars. Top spot for camping and exploring, take a detector and you may even find some gold. Atog

Thought I'd give this old thread a bump. Southern NSW has some great parks, like the Zane Grey CP at Bermagui

Hi, One of our favourite spots is Merry Beach, on the South Coast of NSW. It has total beach front sites with reasonable rates with lots of specials. There is a kids play area and a swimming pool. Here's a early morning photo I took of our Classic Millard There's always plenty of wildlife around. Here's the Albino Kangaroo Here's an elevated photo showing the ensuite sites Here's a photo of one of our beachfront sites. It's just beautiful As it's pet friendly, we take away our puppies with us. Here's our 16 year old "Cowgirl" that comes away with us. She's a Miniature Fox Terrior. HIt can get quite windy beachfront. Unfortunately my parents van was the target of a horrible storm that totally destroyed their awing. You can also have fires in raised containers. There's an abundance of seafood available just a short drive away at Batemans Bay. We totally recommend Merry Beach. It's a beautiful spot, surrounded by National Park. There are heaps of walks to do. The walk to Pretty Beach is really nice. Our BlueBird hasn't stayed at Merry Beach yet, so I can't wait to do so. Monica

Hi All,
I guess the thing this thread is proving, is that we Aussies are so lucky to have so much natural beauty, & the freedom to travel & stay pretty well as & where we want to. I am just realizing that there are so many beautiful places to stay that I will never get to, but I look back at our travels & realize how lucky we have been to get where we could.
Get out & enjoy it before your time comes up, & you suddenly find yourself realizing that you should have done more travelling & living life to the fullest while you could
Its all fun

Our favorite campground is in the bush and free. No power, no supplied water, got a toilet and tiny creek. As I posted in the Free camping section: Every year we goto the Blue Range campground near Mansfield Vic at Christmas, nice but little camping area, with fire pits and a walk to the cleanest drop loos you will ever find in the bush. There is a creak behind the camp site with slowly running water (boil before use), but there is no drinking water so bring you own or fill up the containers at the servo in Mansfield (under 10 min drive away). No power so bring a gennie or solar panel. Sat Nav Coordinate: -36.935692,146.095608 (copy coordinates into google maps for exact location). Fire pits provided. A lot of people and hunters use this camp for short term stays (under 3 days). You can see some pickies of our trip there last Christmas here

All great places, the company makes it, especially on the Tours. I like checking out the camp kitchens, the one at Esk has to be up there, mighty purdy. If rustic floats your boat, the one in the park in Kangaroo Valley. For the food Mrs Sutcac`s dampers lined up at Nundle would be hard to beat.
