Hello This is my 1963 Modern Caravan. Unfortunately it's been painted white and has an awful aircon sticking out the front, but we are in the process of restoring it to its original tin/metal finish. The interior is good with the original fittings, we just need to give it a clean paint and tighten a few screws so to speak.

Part if the cupboard has been taken out, so we will be replacing it like its originals.

Love your van Lilli, you're very lucky it retains so many of it's original features. Please keep us updated as you progress.

I love your van! Being white on the inside and white on the outside (currently) gives it a very Scandinavian look! Can't wait to see how you've painted it the exterior.

Thanks sarahlou, we love our van too. Haven't posted for a while, been very busy with the van in the meantime certainly a makeover. We've had the van soda blasted to get the white paint off, what a difference! Done quite a lot to the interior, reinstalled a cupboard, replaced part of the floor and wall, new oven/stove, new blockout blinds, new custom spring mattress, and lots of painting. Wow that looks really nice, what a great job you've done on the interior the powder blue and white works very well together. With your soda blasting did you find that you ended up with much 'dust' in the interior, as I've been considering soda blasting the Valiant.
Cheers

Thank you mikoz22, it took a long time to decide what colour to paint the interior, I was considering Mondrian colour design....but after deciding on the powder blue we started to work on the van and discovered underneath the cream paint was a brighter blue which would have been the original colour around the windows etc, so that was a nice find under the layers. As for the soda blasting yes it did go everywhere but we didn't start the work inside so it didn't matter, cleaning up was easy enough too no lasting damage as such.....it was a good experience for us

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedFew updated photos showing the Modern new exterior paint job, 2 pack paint in silver. Interior shows the pressed tin splash back, pelmets, and new ceiling. We also did the undercarriage, new axle and springs etc. Very happy with the overall look, and she's (Lilli) pretty comfy now. We've had so many holidays in it over the 2 years and look forward to many more to come. Still a few things to do but I guess that's the fun of it :-) Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedOur vintage annex (made by Kenlow in WA) has been a great addition to our caravan. The second photo shows the annex open and sides rolled up, photo taken at 2015 WA Vintage Caravan Spring Tour.

Thank you DC3Td for your nice comments......yes we are very proud. And I spent many hours on the net of ways to dress up our Lilli, and the pressed tin splashback was something I definitely wanted to do. Trying to keep it as original as possible but also restoring it as safely as we can too. We were lucky with the annex it was given to us from a friend and just fits Lilli perfectly
