Hi Gavan,

Looks like Aden has nailed that well.

He has a great ability to produce very realistic drawings.
I have one of my rod he did at Parklands Street Rod Nationals a few years back, & mine is more along the "cartoon" lines than realism.

Now its up to you to make it look as good in real life ( I know you will)

Thanks JBJ.

Julie and I had wanted a rendering completed for some years now.
I stumbled on Aden in an old SM mag and contacted him via Facebook.
Before xmas.
He got back to me last month, and so a friendship has begun.

Your words are interesting, as I was absolutely gob smacked as to the accuracy that unfolded from some crappy photos and 1/2 dozen phone call conversations of our Tow Car.

He has nailed the concept to a "T"

And to top it off we have a new friend.

Thanks for the words, and I think you'll beat me, But SWELL WILL happen.

Cheers,

Swellwillys

Great drawings Gavan, and I am betting the finished product will be just as good, going by the quality of your Sunny!

Cheers
Doug

Hi Gavin and Jools

As you well know, there are times...long hard times...when the fun parts of a project seem far away, and that time is standing still.

So it's just lovely to have a really amazing picture that exactly matches your vision - as a motivator, accelerator, and also as a comfort in those occasional long dark winters of the wallet. ;)

Again, wonderful!

Hay Gavin. I knew the first time I saw this car and we talked about what you had in mind I knew this was going to be something special.
The way it is going it will look pretty close to Aden's rendering. His art is awesome and so is your imagination.
It will be a stunner for sure and well worth the wait.
Cheers . John

Lots of fiddly time consuming work going on there. It has been a massive project that not too many could attempt. It must be getting close to filling and priming soon I hope.
Looking good !

Over the past month we have been putting together a few items that are required for "SWELL".

Bought this on evilbay, its about 7 inches too wide and will have to be cut and modified but it's an integral part of the design.

Bought this 55 Chevy steering wheel some years ago, also on evilbay.

It now looks like this, after being re sized down to 15 inch and the rim made a little thicker.

I'm off to pick up the polished (die cast) dashboard deco panel, and will drop the horn rim off and have it brightened up. The Chevy badge will be replaced, with a,as yet, to be determined, emblem.

I was able to source a 48 Oldsmobile dash clock

and instruments

from the States and these are currently being upgraded and restored
(by company in Arkansas) to 12 volt, to suit the Vortec engine
