OK, you can get your waterproofing stuff at Bunnings, but where do you go when you need curtains and cushions and a new frock to match the van? Rickrack Retro in Summer Hill (inner west Sydney) has a stock of original fabric, including curtain and upholstery material. I know this is a bit far for you guys in the west, but fabric is easy to mail (Rickrack is a couple of doors from the post office) and I'm sure she'd scan a few patterns to let you know what she has. The web address is www.rickrack.com.au and the phone number is 9798 8401 Does anyone else know of suppliers for this sort of stuff? It would be good to develop a contact list.

Good link thanks Belinda .....I was chasing some retro fabrics just recently, but couldn't find any over here in the West ...... I bought some supposedly 1940's floral fabric on Ebay, but it hasn't arrived yet.

From: Belinda Keir To: Mark Taylor Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2004 1:18 PM Subject: retro fabrics Hi mark could you post these two samples of fifties fabric. It might give people an idea of what to look for in op shops and retro shops (and Spotlight) I'm making new curtains out of sample one, which should look jolly. The current curtains are made out of sample two but the fabric is very fragile and faded. Cheers Belinda retro fabric one.jpg retro fabric two.jpg

Hi Belinda, my mum kindly re-lined the original barkcloth from my van (1957 Horizon). It's come up beautifully. And would you believe, i have some of the exact 50s fabric that you have featured (the top photo). My friend found it in an opshop. Fifties fabric - I'm always on the lookout, but it's hard to find. The Spotlight retro line just doesn't do it for me. Lucia
