Updated Pics of Woody - the House Wagon November 2012 Getting a new drawbar and electric brakes fitted. Drawbar built and installed by Andrew Horne, Hornby Engineering, Caravan & Camper trailers repairs & servicing. 11 Beach Street Mordialloc VIC (03) 9588 2394. Andrew is a wealth of information and did an amazing job on the van, installed the electric brakes. He is also a really nice bloke who knows his stuff. His father had built the original axle for the van which he recognised when it was removed, amazing...

Hi
You've done a great job on this. as you well know, rebuilding a van takes heaps of effort, & a considerable amount of cost. Generally much more than expected in both areas.
But isnt it a great feeling when you start to see all the effort come to fruition??
Congratulations on having the ability to stick at it & save another one.
Hope to catch up one day
JBJ

Hi ihritch Good to see your van coming back together after a lot of sweat and toil. Should tow nicely with that new drawbar too... not to mention being much easier to reverse than it was with the short drawbar. Keep at it mate.... would be nice to have it all done ready for the warmer weather and weekends away . Cheers Reddo

Hi there, thanks for the encouragement, i'm really enjoying the restoration process, each bit completed is another step closer to getting it on the road. Cant wait to get out and about in Woody - The House Wagon. Its amazing to learn new skills as you go, first time restoring such a big project but its worthwhile! I will get to meet you all somewhere along the road, plan to hitch woody up and get along to some meets, will be good to see your vans and hear your restoration stories. Cheers Iain

Making curtains, lot trickier than i thought, no two windows the same size. Bought some vintage barkcloth which was only 600mm wide, so needed to chop it up the middle and add material to the sides to make the width.

Had new dinette seating made by Beachside Motor Trimmers, factory 19 Cumberland Drive Seaford VIC (03) 9782 4004. Excellent work completed, happy to recommend to others. Original 12v Lights and shades restored to original and rewired, works beautifully

You are doing a terrific job there. Love the colours & especially that barkcloth. Don't you hate it when you find the perfect material but there isn't enough of it? With your cushions, are they all vinyl or material on one side?

Hey shesgotthelook, thanks for the feedback, pretty pleased with the colours. I had vinyl top and sides and a heavy duty wool underneath so the cushions can breathe when upturned when used as a bed. Cheers Iain

Finished the lino tiles and finally able to install the table. Bought an old laminex table and stripped the laminex off and fitted to the tabletop. The original table top was the lino the was used on the floor and had perished over the years. Very happy with the table.

G'day ihritch. It is good to see what you have done, am especially interested in exactly what you did to make the new lamp shades, as that is something all Don owners would be interested in. Another thing you mentioned is stripping off old laminex from a table & reusing it. Can you give us some insight into the process as far as the stripping goes ? any comments would be appreciated. Well done. ST
