 VANTASTIC - NEW ZEALAND BOOK
« Thread Started on Mar 7, 2009, 10:07pm »

When i was searching for info on my NZ made Munro Mark T put me onto a book called VANTASTIC by Chris Hunter. It has many many photos of old vans in New Zealand over the various years and is something I'll be taking to events to show the others.

I picked mine up off "Trade Me" -(New Zealand's answer to Ebay) for $25 au including postage.

Covers so many vans made or used in NZ plus camp grounds and photos of early camping by individuals. Definately a good read.

G'day Rod,

"Vantastic" is a great book isn't it? The historical overview is fascinating, but then I am a person who is fascinated by history. I picked mine up just before Christmas from a second hand bookseller in Sydney (over the net), even thought it is a brand new copy. I gathered from an email he sent me that he sources them from the UK. An NZ book coming from the UK...go figure that ??? ??? ???

I am living for the day when we have an Australian version of "Vantastic". I'm looking forward to the booklet about Oz Vans that Papa and Mamarazzi are putting together later this year - something to look forward to, eh?

It is always interesting to keep a watch on NZ's site "TRADE ME"
to see what vans are for sale. I keep watching for Munro Pixie vans like mine so I can collate photos of the inside layouts etc.
There are just a few things in my van that I want to take back to original.
