Hi All, I'm forwarding these shots of this little trotter on behalf of new member ''CRUZ'' alias Leanne, also from Moruya who has rescued this little lightweight from Sth. Aust. It's now tucked away in her large shed along with her other goodies- one being the towcar she mentioned, a 36' ford coupe (maybe a future companion for Kaybee's coupe) It will be a great litle van when finished and does'nt need any major work other than it's new paint job. Good score Leanne, Kingy

Hi Kingy,
Good to see you're starting a V V cell in Moruya. ;D ;D ;D
Can you pass the word onto Cruz - Great little van! Well done. Looking forward to seeing it once it's had its paint job.
One thing I'll say for Globetrotter - they didn't want anyone to be in doubt about their brandname. Look at the size of that logo! I reckon you could pick it up on Google Earth! ;D ;D ;D
Regards,
Don Ricardo

Hi Kingy, Hay that van looks very much like the one on the cover of Cold Chisel's album in the 80,s , and I think Cobber has posted a copy of it somwhere .Cold Chisel came from SA so it could be that we have a celebrity van as well.

Hi Cobber ,yeah I think you are right on that, it is a good twin though. The reason I remembered was that I thought it was similar to mine at the time.

Hi All, Here's an update on the little globetrotter i showed you all back in mid December on behalf of Leanne (cruz). Certainly looks a lot different, being colour matched to suit her towcar the 36' coupe, which is another story in inself Van still has interior to be done, wheels and finishing touches and behind the coupe the pair will certainly make for a great pair i'm sure you'll agree. cheers kingy

Do we know what year it is? Looks almost identical to mine inside but outside a tad different, mine has square timber windows. This van is gorgeous.....has inspired me for sure!!!!

Wow Cruz, what a transformation. Love the external colour - fanastic.
I'm looking forward to seeing your van (and you and your family of course!) at the 2010 Nationals.
Congratulations - a job beautifully done.

Hey Cruz, How fantastic to have these photos of your little Globetrotter and know a little about its previous journeys. Super cool. Thanks for posting the photos too, Daggsey. And thanks for explaining about the waterbags. I thought they were probably there as ballast to keep the front of the car on the road. I'm told the Beetles had pretty light steering because of a quality control problem at VW which meant that a lot of them came out of the Veedub factory without an engine under the bonnet. Don Ricardo

:)Hi Olfarts, Lights purchased on e-bay LED . I liked them as no holes needed to cut and the shape suited the van, The lights are just a multi-purpose and not of anything in particular. Number plate light is Model A ford, and simply replaced this with a new on as original was very sad.
