Heres a few shots of the interior of the old van.

ice chest, stainless steel sink ,fynespray pump, and galv water tank under bunk will be saved for the teardrop. The old cast iron oscillating fan still works .


Nice old mirror and 60s style bed lamp .


I thought this light was a fluro when i first seen it . Turned out to be a long "Bannet cap" incandescent globe. The other light behind it is a battern holder lamp with a push through type toggle switch. Saves groping around the walls looking for the light switch .
Demolition is well under way since these pix where taken. I managed to get the ice chest , alloy windows and other goodies out without smackin them with a hammer. All the cupboard doors /hinges/latches have been saved . The porthole was held in with 8 self tapers
. currently removing about 100 screws per side holding the j moulding on . then moving on to unscrewing the sheet alloy off the ply body . Not sure what i am gunna do with the sheeting but will remove it carefully in case i need it. Maybe stone gaurds on the front of the TD.

I ran over the road screamin'and stopped the massacre . Managed to save another ice chest, yellow plastic sink, three very nice 4" round white cut 50s style glass light fittings as well as an unusual roof hatch winding mech.
All usable stuff on the teardrop .

if i had been an hour or so early i could have saved all the cupboard doors and handles . most of which ended up on a fire they had going.
Very lucky to save what i did.

Hmmmm 2 ice chests in the one van!!! Not a silly idea. Can always use one for beer and one for food. Of course the beer one would have to be fitted with a combination lock ;D ;D ;D.

Hey Trodler. The seat cushions turned out to be mouldy on the bottom . I will save the buttons but the rest of it i wouldnt even let the dog sleep on. sorry mate.

Anywho folks. weather permitting the project should be down to rolling chassis with floor this weekend. Gunna find it hard to stay focussed on the job . Ive got another vintage bike coming home from Victoria this weekend. Early 1940s BSA M21 600cc.

This is going to be some Teardrop you're building Two ice boxes??? One fitted with a combination lock for the grog... Geez I hope you can remember the combination when the beer starts to kick in ;D

Glad you managed to save some parts from both the vans... Would you or anyone know if the hinges shown in your above pics for the cupboards are still available or similar?
