Hi everyone, here are some more photos of our van, the signwriter came out on the weekend and did a fantastic job. If anyone needs any work done he is great at what he does, is reliable and I think is very fair with his prices. We decided to name our van " old Bessie".WHY? We liked the name and thought it fit the era in which the van was made. Anyway she looks like an old Bessie to us. We also finished putting in the overhead cupboard doors, which my brother inlaw and myself made. I also just bought some old art deco door handles and put a pair on the door. Anyway we hope you like what we have done with "old Bessie" so far and will post more photos soon. Many thanks, Kevin and Jackie PS We would like to thank everyone for all their help and advice to all our questions,

Hi Kevin Old Bessie is looking mighty fine. It is amazing what a coat of paint can do.
Cheers Trodler.

Kevin & Jackie,
I am so pleased you are the ones who bought that van...you have done her proud. I will send some of the photos to the bloke I got her from and let him see the transformation...it is just what he was hoping for. Congratulations.
Cobber.

Hi kevin & Jackie
Your van looks great. "Bessie" has come a long way in a few months. A few scrolls and a bit of artwork certainly 'lifts" these old darlings. Great to see the aussie flag on there as well. I always have at least one flag flying on "Matilda" wherever i stay at. MR FJ Maurie has a large aussie flag he runs up a 12 foot pole where he stays with the old bondwood atlanic called "Doris" and Cobbers van "Driftwood" has the southern cross stars painted in the flash on the side.
More of us should be patriotic and fly the colours I reckon. We are influenced by too much yankee crap over here.
Anyway mate ... i better get down off my soap box.
Once again congratulations on a top job so far .Keep up the good work and keep us posted . Cheers Reddo

Old Bessie really is a lovely looking van.. one of the nicest around.. a really pro job.
Have you got any pictures of the van overall?
And simple things like the door handle and lock.. So simple yet so practical and it looks great.
You see something like that and wonder why it's not done more often.. I'm gunna pinch that idea.. : )

Hi everyone, THANKS very much for all your kind words about "old Bessie" and our work on her so far. It's nice to hear all your thoughts about her. We hope to restore the two tables on either side of the van in the next week and to also put the tail lights back on. After that we are just waiting on the four windows that we re-puttyed to finally dry so that we can put them back in and then take her to the upholsterer to be measured up for her new cushions. Here are a couple more photos of "old Bessie" full length. It was really nice to hear from you this morning Cobber and I hope the restoration on the van that we have done so far makes the gentleman that you bought the van from happy. Once again thanks very much , Kevin and Jackie ;D
