ok Cobber and Don R .........I've recreated a early 1940 scene for ya's in the Beverley shed ;D
Whilst having a coupla beers on Friday night, had to get out the little caravan that goes behind the FX (dunno its name ....it hasn't got one ) .....to take it to the Corrigin show........but some inconsideratebast person has dumped a Land Cruiser caravan right in the doorway of where the lil van is stored
So, as the jockey wheel on the L C is stuffed, put the trolley jack under the drawbar and tried to pull it out being careful not to stress my dickey knee ........nup ........it wasn't going anywhere
Needed someone to push from behind, but its 7:30pm, its dark .... and both neighbours (commercial properties) had gone home.
mmm .......Mr F C Heber's jockey wheel design is all good ......but after 77 years when its seized, it becomes a problem,as the jockey wheel can't be removed. There's several tow cars in the Beverley shed, but needed one with a high enough tounge as to not damage the jockey wheel (am I confusing you ;D)
Enter the 39 Chev that sits high (too high ) ......but how am I going to attache the antiquated Land Cruiser coupling (or should I say lack of coupling) to the Chev
anyway .........the scene is set ........the date is April 1940 .....war is raging in Europe, whilst in South Aus, some pioneer caravanners are camping ........in a shed
the Furness and the Road Cruiser caravans are already camping .....the Road Cruiser has the earliest known caravan aluminium window frames ....and a port hole from a ship ........then into the camping ground enters a 39 Chev with a 1934 ;D Land Cruiser caravan in tow
bugga ....I'd betta go into photobucket and get rid of that modern 49 Chev ute in the background
but .........have a look at this ......now this dodgy
what the
later in the night ....after a few more beers, and a litre of CRC .....
the jockey wheel actually freed up .....and I was able to move it up & down the shaft
