Hi ho, everybody (to quote Jack Davey), Last week I spent a few days in the Central West region of NSW for work. Saw a few interesting things while I was there. First the caravans. A Valiant seen at Guerie between Wellington and Dubbo, still in use judging by the gas bottle: A rather angular little van in a yard at Forbes: An aluminium Olympic van seen at Canowindra: The Olympic is for sale. If anyone is interested, PM me for details. I will post more photos on the DHL Olympic thread. ...and another Valiant for sale in Cowra: And now for a few other things seen along the way. Anyone interested in a 1926 Chev seen at Wellington? ...or a Case tractor? What about a Hillman Husky then? No, then what about a 1950 AEC bus which got lost on its way to Maroubra? Finally, a couple of beautifully restored International trucks at Dubbo on their way to somewhere else: Don Ricardo

It's a pity Olympic haven't made a museum of their vans That would be a great display of one of the earliest
Those inter trucks are always one of my favourites.... Especially the one up near the truck cab.
Don't know why....... just is. ;D ;D ;D Maybe cause most of the stations I worked on as a young fellow used them. Nice restoration job as well
Thanks for the photos DonR

Evening all, Glad you enjoyed the pics. I've decided that the Central West region of NSW is the aluminium van capital of Australia. I saw quite a few more ally vans hidden away on farms or peeping over fences while I was traveling, but too far away for the camera. It's a pity Olympic haven't made a museum of their vans That would be a great display of one of the earliest... Atog ATOG: I agree. Cairns would be a good location for an Olympic museum. What about it? ...The little angular van looks kinda like our Norich? ... Andrew Freeway: It does have similar styling cues to the Norich, but your van at least has some curves leading down from the front and back walls to the floor. I'm still trying to decide whether I think the Forbes van was a home build or not. What do you think. Unfortunately I couldn't see the front of it. How much for the bus? and any more pictures? Matt P.S. if you have contact details I would love to find out more Astronauty: The bus is a ripper isn't it? I don't recall any name on the yard where the bus, etc were located. Sorry, I should have taken a bit more notice. My suggestion is that you ring the mobile phone number on the Case tractor - 0419 489 191. I'm not sure whether all of the vehicles were being sold by the one person or not - I almost got the impression that they may have been items being sold by different members of a vintage car club. However, if you ring the mobile number hopefully the seller of the Case will be able to get you into contact with the owner of the bus (which was for sale). There was actually another bus behind the one I photographed, but not nearly in such good nick. Those four (actually five) vehicles were in a yard just on the outskirts of Wellington, which is 60 kms or so from Dubbo. Don Ricardo

How often have you heard that one ;D ;D ;D ;D I reckon Southside of Brisbane on the highway near Springwood is a better place for an Olympic museum Maybe at the ..........
