Whilst at the meeting of vintage vanners at the Bendigo swap on Sat arvo, I met Bill, who has purchased this unusual fibreglass van ......my guess is that its from NZ? Any assistance with identifying this van would be appreciated. Mark

Hi Mark. This isnt a New Zealand van. They were actually called a Caribbean Caravan made by International Plastics. There is an article on the van at the ourtouringpast.com website. Click here for the link. Caribbean CaravanCheers.

I wonder who made the "cap"! A lot of work to make the poor van look like a "Cartoon Character" Cheers, Ron

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the info. Its very improbable that many of these more"one off" breeds of vans survived, let alone to be turned into a "cartoon character"
It would still be unusual with the "beak" removed, but still a great part of our history, if only to show how other countries vans were tried on for the australian market.
