 metal edging
« Thread Started on Apr 23, 2012, 7:15pm »

I want to put some stainless or aluminium edging along the top of the new beds. They are 9mm ply. I am thinking of the nail-on sort of edging that used to be used on tables and the like. Is that sort of thing still available? I have an idea that something similar is used as a beading across doorways to hold lino down... but is thicker than 9mm.

Any ideas? Cheers, Bill

Bill,
Tried for ages to find some 12 mm metal edging. Managed to get some 17mm from Action Aluminium, but they tell me it is no longer made.

Good luck in your search.

Have a look in Technical. I asked about table edging not too long ago and got some useful replies including links to stockists. I want to do the same thing as you - metal trim on the seat/bed ends to cover the edge of the ply, as well as on the table and bench.

I might give it a go Greedy. It a pain hunting around for stuff from here. I can always strip it off if I don't like. I suspect it will come unstuck from people getting in/out of bed.... but worth a try.

cheers, Bill
