STYLE-LINE CARAVANS
Manufactured by Burwood Caravans
Burwood, NSW
Note: Not to be confused with the Styleline Executive stickers applied to vans sold by caravan dealer Doug Thorley in Melbourne.
1961 publicity information:
(Source: K Winser, Australian Caravan and Touring Manual for 1961, p 161)
Elsewhere in the 1961 Winser Manual (p 93), it indicates that the Style-Line was built in the following sizes: 9 ft 6 in, 11 ft, 12 ft, 14 ft and 15 ft 6 in. All were clad in waterproof rescote ply, had four berths with a double bed and two single beds, and a metho stove. Four berths in a 9 ft 6 in van must have quite cosy! ;D ;D ;D

I have found some interesting information about my caravan, and Style Line caravans in general. When I went to get my van weighed (for rego) a man came running over to me to tell me that he built my caravan! He told me that he used to work for Burwood Caravans in Burwood NSW in the late 1950s and 1960s. Len said that my van is either a 1962 or 1963 model. He also said that Style Line caravans are a stand alone brand, not a re-badged Franklin. The chassis' were also built in Burwood (around the corner from Burwood Caravans) and then they were delivered to the Burwood factory for the van to built. Len is a gold mine of knowledge so if anyone wants to speak directly with him just PM me and I will give you his contact details, he said he will be happy to talk with anyone interested.
