Hi, We recently purchased a van, unregistered and bascially it is just the skin! The old sticker on the front of it says New-Home and has a logo with a map of australia and the initials N H. It was sold to us as a vintage van, manufactured early 1950s. We thought it may have been a Chesney Featherweight, as it is VERY light. But would love to follow up on the New-Home sticker.

Unfortunately, Wendtfarm didn't return to the forum after their first and only post in April 2010 to tell us any more about their New-Home caravan or to show us any pics. However, the following New-Home decal is currently on sale on Gumtree (together with decals for a number of other brands) and seems to fit Wendtfarm's description: Interestingly, an article by Chris Fincham on the Caravancampingsales website on 26 February 2013 reports on the recent revival of the New Home name by the children of the person who used the New Home name in the mid-70's: "Royal Flair creates New Home words & photos - Chris Fincham
"Well-established Melbourne manufacturer hops on ‘white look’ caravan bandwagon with sleek new fibreglass range
"The family behind Royal Flair caravans, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has launched a new brand designed to take advantage of the latest trend in smooth fibreglass caravans with slick, gloss white interiors.
"Located next door to Royal Flair’s factory in Campbellfield, Victoria, the new company was set up by the siblings of Royal Flair founder, Peter Deralas, who built traditional aluminium caravans under the New Home banner from the mid-1970s until starting Royal Flair in the early-'90s.
"Royal Flair was taken over by his son, Bill, in 1996, and now Bill together with sisters Gina and Christine, have revived the New Home name with a new four-model line-up, which was on display at last week’s South Australian Caravan & Camping Show in Adelaide."Wendtfarm was of the opinion that their New-Home was from the 50's, but the above info may be part of the story...or maybe it's just another example of a manufacturer adopting a brandname which has been used previously by somebody or somewhere else.
