Thanks Conti, thats great. I cant believe the number of different caravan manufactures, even back in the 50's/60's. Its all very interesting. Hope the Aerolite is going ok. We dragged ours out last Monday and started doing a bit. Took some photos, stay tuned. Cheers-Pete.

Howdy Chubi, would be interesting to see your van, as the chassis numbers are close. Any chance of some photos? Im going to have to get myself more familiar with Photobucket. Cheers-Pete.

Gday aeroliteej - just wondering about where your water tank is and how it's set up on your van. I'm helping my folks out with internet research at the moment for their Valiant Royale, which looks just about the same as yours but with chassis number A363. The top picture of your van matches ours, with what I assume is the water filling point down left. (I ran some water through ours and it went into a green hose which was cut off near the rear of the van - I presume this should just run into a slim tank fixed to the underside of the floor?) Does your van have a fridge in it - hence the vents on the right which ours doesn't have? Ours still has the ice chest which my folks are hoping to restore and test out before opting for replacing it with a fridge. We're also keen, like most people on here, to get some kind of confirmation on the year the van was manufactured, and are presuming, like you, that ours would probably have been built around 1962, which is kind of cool. Thanks in advance for anything you might be able to help with.

Orphantovans, This post is a few years old. Areoliteej hasn't been online since last year. Fortunately there are a few members with valiants Firstly,to get you started here is this link to valiant's history Here is search results for valiants under member's photo album (17 pages) Yours would have be built in 1962 . There is a plastic holding water tank underneath. These are still available . We have used large blocks of ice frozen in plastic ice cream containers in our icebox. Good luck with the renovation , cheers Murray

Especially about the plastic holding tank - it's a good lead for my folks to follow as they start work on the van. Thanks again.
